Affamata is a marketplace that connects chefs with food lovers everywhere. We empower you to share your creations with your community. Now, everyone will get to experience your famous signature dish, dessert, or appetizer.
You get to do what you love, and foodies from around the nation can discover (and enjoy) your talent.
Oh, and if you’re wondering – “affamata” is Italian for hungry! Cute, right?
Whether you want to sell one signature dish or you have a menu that rivals a restaurant, you can join Affamata and earn money by sharing your culinary skills with our marketplace.
Get in on the ground floor of something exciting. We’re the first marketplace that gives amateur chefs a platform to distribute their favorite culinary creations to millions of hungry buyers.
When it comes to what you cook and when, you’re in control. Whether it’s your locally famous peanut butter cookies, your favorite plant-based dinner for four, or simply the perfect avocados from your backyard tree, you call the shots.
Our goal at Affamata is to connect local chefs with food lovers from around the nation. We’ll match you with hungry customers. All you have to do is deliver the goods. It’s like Etsy for local, professional and amateur chefs alike.
Affamata is for people whose love language is food.
You’re someone who loves to cook, not just for the satisfaction of creating, but for the joy (okay, bliss) you see on someone’s face when they experience the full spectrum of flavor that comes from tasting your signature dishes.
People might have told you that you should sell these special dishes. You might have even begun picturing the logistics of how that would work.
You know that your cooking is delectable, but you’re not sure if you could make a decent income from it.
If any of this sounds like you, then Affamata is meant for you!
Getting started with Affamata is easy!
Here’s what to do:
Step 1: Create a chef profile with Affamata. There’s an approval process (in accordance with regulations in your area). Once you’re approved, you can move on to step two.
Step 2: Fill in your profile with details about you, your location, and information about your experience in the kitchen.
Step 3: Add your products to the Affamata marketplace. Include the name of your creation, a list of ingredients, and pictures. You set your own price, and Affamata takes a small cut of 5%.
When someone orders one of your creations, you’ll be notified immediately to get cooking!
We are still building our marketplace, and we’re in the process of creating our network of local chefs. Join now to be part of our special founding members group! Isn’t it exciting to get in on the ground floor of something?
In addition to feeding the nation by matching chefs with food enthusiasts, we’re also committed to doing our part to end world hunger.
2% of Affamata’s proceeds go to tackling food insecurity across America. We’re calling this endeavor “One Meal, Two Mouths.”
Now, as you provide meals for your community, you can also feel great about contributing to a great cause. Imagine how much good we can do when we all join together to feed America!
1 We all got hit pretty hard in 2020.
Entire industries were decimated overnight, and are just now beginning to recover. A hard lesson that many of us learned is that it’s prudent to have multiple streams of income.
Whether you’re looking to supplement your current earnings or you need a new full-time gig, Affamata is here for you.
2 Peer-to-peer marketplaces are the future.
We’ve all heard of Etsy, and Affamata is kind of like that, except for food. Like Etsy, you can sell your non-perishables around the country, but you can also send fresh, ready-made meals, too.
You can also think of Affamata like Uber and Lyft. Instead of enduring an impersonal taxicab ride, your trip to the airport is now an opportunity to make a friend and connect with someone in your community with an interesting story. Here, your food is that story!
3 Turn your hobby into a career.
Maybe you love doing meal prep for your family, or you’re the go-to cupcake queen for neighborhood parties. Everyone tells you that you have a gift and could make some serious cash by selling your product. But the idea of taking the plunge is scary. Starting a business from scratch is expensive, risky, and time-consuming.
Affamata makes it easy to make the transition. You can start at your own pace, and we’ll connect you with paying customers. You can definitely market yourself, but you don’t have to. We do all the heavy lifting.
4 Earn extra income.
Okay, so maybe you’re not ready to leave the daily nine-to-five, or you don’t have time for a whole new career, but you do want a new source of income. With Affamata, you have the power and flexibility to earn on your terms. Cook only when and what you want. And, because you can set your own prices, you’re in control of how much money you make.
5 Share your gifts.
Think of how much joy you can bring to others by sharing the signature dish that everyone is always requesting that you make. Whether it’s sharing a piece of your culture with people from different backgrounds or opening up people’s eyes to how potato chips can revolutionize cookies, you have the power to expand others’ horizons.
The seller will need to provide packaging and arrange delivery.
We’re putting together a comprehensive list of regulations, but in the meantime, we recommend googling your local cottage laws.
There’s a monthly fee of $9.97 to be a member of Affamata. We also take a small percentage of the proceeds from each sale. Our founding food crafters can get in on the ground floor at 7%. Once we get more established, that percentage will go up. It’s a good idea to get in now!
Your profit potential is completely up to you! We don’t have a minimum or maximum requirement for how many recipes or products you can offer. Affamata is meant to put you in control of your culinary schedule. You can cook as much (or as little) as you’d like.
The next step is to sign up as a chef with Affamata. We’ll review your application and get back to you with what to do next. In the meantime, begin thinking of dishes you want to create and how much you’d like to earn for your efforts.
